Situated across the courtyard from the Hôtel de France, the restaurant was the original Relais to the Kings, Queens and nobility of the time. Tired and dusty stagecoach travellers would savour the good honest quality faire of the Inn, slaking their thirst with the finest wines and ales.
Today, this romantic restaurant is renowned for its fresh, quality cuisine professionally prepared in the traditionally French way. Come and enjoy the warm, romantic candlelit ambience, exquisite French cuisine, superb service and olde worlde charm of this special and authentic place.
The décor featuring fairylights on the wooden ceiling beams, flower lights and huge painted tulips on the walls with imposing Louis XVI gold gilded mirrors and fresh flowers on the tables, to the food which, while being everything you would expect from a quality French restaurant, also surprises with Plat du Jours that vary from Sea Bass to Sushi and a Jamie Oliver inspired rolled Lotte with parma ham recipe.
The Relais du Roy offers a choice of menus to suit all tastes. In addition, there is the Demi Pension Gastronomique and Standard menu, which is available when booking for the Hôtel and restaurant together.
Le Relais du Roy is open 5 days a week for lunch (12h00-14h00 ) and dinner (19h30-21h00). Reservations are recommended and can be made directly with the restaurant or via the Hôtel.
